With more than 28,000 clients in over 100 countries, QlikView is one of the most popular applications worldwide. It permits users to quickly make in-depth decisions using data analysis and visualisation. Today QlikView is one of the fastest, resource-conserving and user-friendliest applications on the market. Thanks to its ease of use, meaningful dashboards, graphics, comparisons and other analysis can be generated from relevant business data – even by less technically adept users. QlikView doubles as an analysis platform and reporting tool in one and is suitable for use in specialist departments as well as at the management level. Uploading data from existing database systems, such as Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL servers, can be done with ease. In addition to classic Excel files (xls, xlsx), QlikView even copes with XML, HTML and text files.

The options of using QlikView are therefore extremely wide and varied. The application can be used, for example, for various applications in the automotive sector, whether reducing production costs by optimising wastage, improving customer satisfaction by determining the cause of repeat visits to workshops or identifying ideal equipment for vehicles to be constructed from stock. We use business analytics tools for these issues and visualise data in QlikView.

Oracle Endeca Information Discovery (OEID)

Data sources being out of range of your data warehouse can provide important information about new business opportunities. OEID enables structured and unstructured data within and outside your organisation to be linked and analysed. Users therefore have access to all relevant information without having to familiarise themselves with external process and system knowledge to be able to comprehensively and promptly answer questions with OEID.

The application also permits data to be provided from different information sources and therefore enables data to be made visible beyond system and process limits. This enables both conventional structured (e.g. relational) data from existing database systems (Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL servers etc.) to be combined with unstructured information (e.g. social media, web pages, files, emails, CRM, Excel and text files etc.). OEID can even combine the most diverse sources into a database.

Compared to other BI tools, the analysis of unstructured data is one of the main strengths of OEID. It enables users to intuitively process new issues. OEID’s strengths come into their own when traditional KPIs alone do not lead to the desired result and additional unstructured data is called for. A use case concerns the analysis of different social media data. Data from social media is therefore incorporated in OEID, which is not just available compressed as a KPI, but can also be read in full as explanatory plain text. This provides an answer to the question as to how a product is rated on popular social media channels, or a sentiment analysis can be carried out. The observation of product launches and their development over time is of particular interest.

SAP Lumira

SAP Lumira lets you visualise data at the same time as editing and cleaning it up. You can also migrate your data with ease to SAP HANA, SAP Explorer, SAP Lumira Cloud and SAP Jam activities. In addition, your company data from SAP HANA and SAP BW, which appears as views in SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects suite, queries imported with SQL can be combined with your own data from Microsoft Excel or CSV files.

Even huge volumes of data can be analysed in seconds with SAP HANA. Drag and drop procedures let you intuitively create attractive graphics, regardless of whether they are simple diagrams, maps or multi-dimensional diagrams. You can combine them on a presentation-like dashboard and simply and easily create a storyboard for your presentation.


With over 29,000 users, Tableau is one of the most popular BI applications. Users can quickly analyse and visualise information and share it with others, and it can also be intuitively combined by drag and drop to create a story. Eye-catching graphics, such as charts, tables and maps, are grouped together on a dashboard.

A major benefit of Tableau lies in its ease of use: New findings, or changing questions can be quickly and easily integrated into evaluations or entire dashboards. In addition, verification of hypotheses is simplified and accelerated through the use of filters and resulting dynamic views.
