Sulzer@University – Final Event with impressive Results

Our colleagues at the Magdeburg branch accompanied the "Process Management" seminar series at Otto von Guericke University in the winter semester of 2022/2023.

In the winter semester of 2022/2023, our colleagues from the Magdeburg branch accompanied the “Process Management” seminar series at Otto von Guericke University in Saxony-Anhalt’s state capital. The aim is to provide students with the knowledge of how processes are analyzed and, if necessary, how suggestions for improvement are worked out.

At the end of January, the time had come. After several weeks of analysis, discussions and question rounds, the students around lecturer Hannes Feuersenger presented their results. A total of seven working groups presented their suggestions for improvement in front of Matthias Kohse, Business Unit Manager and head of the Magdeburg branch, and Cindy Franke, Team Leader Business Analysis at Sulzer, on the campus grounds of the University of Magdeburg.

“I am really impressed with the presentations. There are really good presentations and a lot of smart input here,” Matthias summarizes the event.

All the presentations were convincing not only because of their good analyses and clever suggestions for improvement. The presentations were also confident and convincing. At the end, there was pizza and soda, including many conversations and exciting exchanges with the future computer science experts.

What’s next?

The results will be consolidated in the next step at our company and will then be reviewed and, if necessary, incorporated as part of our continuous improvement process. This seminar series has shown us once again that the fresh view from outside and especially the perspective of young people can bring forth new ideas and provide us with impulses.

We would like to thank all students for their great work, the lecturer Hannes Feuersenger and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg for the opportunity to accompany this series of events and are already looking forward to further joint projects.
