Challenges
A leading vehicle manufacturer commissioned Sulzer and project partner ConVista to implement the migration of its payment platform to SAP S/4HANA. All external financial transactions worldwide are completed and managed via this global platform.
The major challenge was to keep the downtime associated with the migration as low as possible – in order to minimize associated risks and costs for the client from the outset.
Many stakeholders, including SAP, SNP and various departments of the client itself, were involved in the comprehensive and challenging transformation process from the very beginning.
A time window of just one weekend was set for the hot phase of the migration. Any delays would have resulted in the paralysis of all payment processes – and thus damage amounting to millions.
Integrated and coordinated cooperation
Close and coordinated collaboration was a central building block for the successful implementation of the project. In direct exchange, our team of experts was able to contribute its know-how in SAP consulting, SAP development, ABAP and FIORI development, test management, PMO and project management in the best possible way.
In addition, our approach of performing a test migration and simulations proved its worth in the intensive collaboration.
Sustainable improvements and high customer satisfaction
We implemented the migration successfully and smoothly to the complete satisfaction of the customer. In the course of the introduction of S/4HANA, all FI processes, cash management, treasury/risk management and the in-house cash area were also optimized.
The extremely successful and professional project implementation met with a very positive response from the customer.
